Camel camel camel!!

My new lust this season is the gorgeous camel trend seen all over the AW10 catwalks and in particular the Chloe collection.  Full of tailored and sophisticated pieces, interpreting menswear with more romantic notions the overall look is sexy but with an edgy twist.  My favourite look in the collection is the fourth from the front, the high waisted shorts teamed with the loose fitting top and leather belt.  The different tones of brown and simple silhouette  create a sophisticated and demure look, perfect for carrying over from day to night.  Similar looks can be found on the high street with this gorgeous camel trench coat from Topshop which would look gorgeous teamed with a pair of dark skinny jeans, a simple top and a killer pair of heels.  You can be a bit more daring and try something like these Jacquard trousers from ASOS which would look fab styled with a simple cream sheer top and a pair of simple flat brogues.  Got myself in the mood for shopping now! Party dress

Is it bad that the summer has just ended (not that we had much of one) and I'm already thinking ahead to my winter party dresses! The biggest trend this AW is texture and movement and the high street is full of tassles, ruffles, petals and fringe all ready for the party season.  My favourite piece is this black and gold tassle dress from Rare.  A gorgeous dress that would suit most body shapes; for boyish figures like mine, the movement gives curves in all the right places and for all you curvy girls out there (and yes I am evious) the tassle detail hides any lumps and bumps and highlights your gorgeous figure.  Team with a pair of black platform shoe boots or a pair of strappy sandals, team with a clutch and simple jewellery and go dance your bum off! I definitely will be! (",)*

Leather Shorts Yay or Nay?

Leather has been massive this season, with leather shorts being worn by celebs such as Frankie from the Saturdays, Alexa Chung and Miley Cyrus but my favourite look for this trend is The City's Whitney Port.  Her gorgeous high-waisted shorts are sexy and she keeps it casual with a cropped chunky knit and leopard print shoe-boots. Natural hair and make-up give her an understated glamour.  I love love love this look!

V Festival 2010

Ok well this isn't exactly a fashion post but there was no way I could not blog on one of the best weekends of my life! :-) I went to V festival with a friend to work as a promotions girl for a boxing game and to be honest, travelling down, I was jealous of my friends who had the whole weekend free to themselves to get drunk, see bands and generally wreak havoc! After carrying 5 huge bags and a Tesco value tent a good mile, we finally met up with our boss and the other girls we were working with and it was clear who had the better deal out of us and our friends. We were met in the gazebo with a cold beer and told to chill while our tent was put up for us, behind the stand, in the arena!! Yep we were about 100 yards from the main stage, fridge for cold beer, ghd's whenever we needed them and we got paid for it. I've really never laughed so much in one weekend as I did at V.  From meeting the most random people, being bench pressed by a modern day he-man to getting covered in wee at Kings of Leon and lusting after Peter Andre (and no I'm not one bit ashamed about the Peter Andre confession!) (",)*
On the Saturday we didn't start work until 6 so we got to squeeze in quite a few acts, Pixie Lott, Plan B, Paolo Nutini, Madness and Peter Andre aswell as getting all "hippied" up with our henna tattoos, flower face paint and daisy rings in our hair.  Plan B were definitely the highlight!  The supporting act Faith SFX was amazing, best beatbox act I've ever heard and when he joined Plan B on stage for the dubstep version on Seal's Kiss from a Rose the crown went wild.  Peter Andre was another shocker, far better than I thought he would be and his Michael Jackson medley was actually really good.  He is still cheesy as hell though especially during mysterious girl but the ten year old girl inside me who was convinced she would grow up to marry him loved it!
On the Sunday night we got to see the Stereophonics and Kings of Leon who were just in another league to everyone else.  The opening chords of On Call still give me goosebumps and for me, the highlight was sitting on some random man's shoulders belting out Use Somebody whilst covered in beer/rain etc (yes we all know what the etc stands for!) We finished off the night dancing to Come on Eileen in the middle of a field and getting hoodies printed off with our catchphrase of the weekend "Orite Georgie Boy" yeah thanks to Josie from BB11 for that one! There's many a Bristol person we tortured to say that line so I do apologise.:-))

Over and out

Health or Vanity?

Ok I know this post is going to cause a bit of controversy and it has taken me a while to write it as it is me admitting I'm wrong.
For the past few years I have used sunbeds, mainly to get a colour for summer even though I have really fair skin and thought nothing of it. I've ingored all the warnings and always thought it will never affect me but now it has. Not me directly but my nanny (my mum's mum) has just been diagnosed with skin cancer and is far from a sun worshipper, infact quite the opposite. Thank god she's now had the all clear and is ok, it has got me thinking that maybe we shouldn't think we are so invincible.
I come from a family of sun worshippers and always thought my mum, aunties and uncles looked healthy and bronzed when infact they are doing irreversible damage to their skin, as I have done myself in the past few years.
The thing I am most ashamed about and the reason it has taken me so long to come to write this is because I still use them.
Knowing how dangerous they are and the damage they do, I can't resist the buzz of feeling bronzed. Although I only go on once a week, I know that using them even just once a month can double your chances of skin cancer. I definitely wouldn't say I have an addiction to them but honestly, it's the only way I feel attractive. I have the utmost respect for naturally pale girls such as Nicola Roberts, Dita Von Tease and Karen Gillan but it just doesn't suit me.  I really hope I can write soon and say I've hit the bottle (of fake tan) and put my health infront of vanity.

Date Outfit

For all you single ladies out there, finding the perfect date outfit can be stressful with wanting to make a good first impression.  This summer, there are so many gorgeous trends that it will be impossible not to find a sexy look to make him pay attention.  My favourite trend this season is textured and pastels.  This look is all about looking fun, flirty and romantic.  The skirt from Rare has been a staple in my wardrobe since last summer and is so versatile it has made the transition from season to season.  The movement in the petals makes it perfect for those summer evening strolls or dancing the night away at a trendy bar.  I have teamed it with this simple white crop top from Topshop and a beautiful detailed cropped jacket from Miss Selfridge.  These gorgeous mushroom coloured heels from Miss Selfridge pick up the tones in the jacket and are right on trend with their tribal inspired details.  Accessories are kept simple with this charming bracelet from Accessorize and earrings from Topshop.  With headpieces all the rage at the minute, this pearlesque piece from Topshop completes the look.  For a more day time look, wear with gladiator sandals and simple little stud earrings.
Hope you like!! x

Hi

Don't you just hate when you get a ladder in your tights? Well I promise you won't hate my blog (at least I hope you won't!) This is just a little of me and everthing I love...which is a abit random I have to confess! Fashion, music, film, my girls, good food, and nights out! :-)

My favourite trend this week is nudes. I've flown back to Ireland for a few weeks to catch up with everyone and I needed a new outfit for our girlie night out.  I bought this dress from New Look and I teamed it with black platform shoe boots from topshop, charcoal chandelier earrings and beaded bracelets from New Look and a simple black clutch.

Everyone commented how flattering the shape is, the ruffles covering anything you're worried about. (though be warned, it's verrrry short for us tall girls!)

Nude colours look best with a tan so if, like me, you haven't been blessed with gorgeous olive skin, get faking it! Over the years I've tried every tanning lotion, potion and even the sunbeds but now for instant tan, I use good old faithful Sun Shimmer by Rimmel or for a longer lasting colour, L'Oreal Sublime is faultless, even on my pale irish skin.

Well just a little hello from me!
