V Festival 2010

Ok well this isn't exactly a fashion post but there was no way I could not blog on one of the best weekends of my life! :-) I went to V festival with a friend to work as a promotions girl for a boxing game and to be honest, travelling down, I was jealous of my friends who had the whole weekend free to themselves to get drunk, see bands and generally wreak havoc! After carrying 5 huge bags and a Tesco value tent a good mile, we finally met up with our boss and the other girls we were working with and it was clear who had the better deal out of us and our friends. We were met in the gazebo with a cold beer and told to chill while our tent was put up for us, behind the stand, in the arena!! Yep we were about 100 yards from the main stage, fridge for cold beer, ghd's whenever we needed them and we got paid for it. I've really never laughed so much in one weekend as I did at V.  From meeting the most random people, being bench pressed by a modern day he-man to getting covered in wee at Kings of Leon and lusting after Peter Andre (and no I'm not one bit ashamed about the Peter Andre confession!) (",)*
On the Saturday we didn't start work until 6 so we got to squeeze in quite a few acts, Pixie Lott, Plan B, Paolo Nutini, Madness and Peter Andre aswell as getting all "hippied" up with our henna tattoos, flower face paint and daisy rings in our hair.  Plan B were definitely the highlight!  The supporting act Faith SFX was amazing, best beatbox act I've ever heard and when he joined Plan B on stage for the dubstep version on Seal's Kiss from a Rose the crown went wild.  Peter Andre was another shocker, far better than I thought he would be and his Michael Jackson medley was actually really good.  He is still cheesy as hell though especially during mysterious girl but the ten year old girl inside me who was convinced she would grow up to marry him loved it!
On the Sunday night we got to see the Stereophonics and Kings of Leon who were just in another league to everyone else.  The opening chords of On Call still give me goosebumps and for me, the highlight was sitting on some random man's shoulders belting out Use Somebody whilst covered in beer/rain etc (yes we all know what the etc stands for!) We finished off the night dancing to Come on Eileen in the middle of a field and getting hoodies printed off with our catchphrase of the weekend "Orite Georgie Boy" yeah thanks to Josie from BB11 for that one! There's many a Bristol person we tortured to say that line so I do apologise.:-))

Over and out
